Making every moment truly unforgettable

The voice that holds your day together.

Your programme has a hundred moments where it can drift. My job is to make sure none of them is the thing you remember.

A day in the life of an MC

See a day the way I hold it.

From the empty room two hours before the first guest, to the floor at its loudest, to the moment the day is handed back to the family. This is the work, not a description of it.

Who is on the mic

Danny L Maesela

An MC is not the person who talks the most. He is the one who reads the room, knows which elder is greeted first, feels when a programme is running long, and moves the day forward without anybody noticing they were moved.

I work in Sepedi and English and I move between them the way your families actually speak. A homestead in Limpopo and a lodge in the North West want the same thing from an MC, and they want it delivered differently. That judgement is the job.

One day, in order.

Real weddings, real moments. This is how a day moves when the programme is in the right hands.

Weddings

Full-day programme direction from arrival to the last dance. Family protocol handled, speeches kept to time, and the floor opened properly.

Lenaneo la poloko · Order of service

Farewells, held with care.

Funerals, memorials and unveilings. On the hardest day a family should not have to run the programme. Danny carries it, gently and in order, so they can say goodbye.

  1. I

    The family arrives

Before anything is said, the family is received, seated and protected. Nobody has to ask where to go.

  2. II

    Hymns and prayer

The church leads and the women's guild sings. My part is the quiet around it, and knowing when to step back.

  3. III

    The programme, in order

Every speaker, every hymn and every name on the printed programme, in the order the family agreed. Nothing missed, nothing overrunning.

  4. IV

    Tributes and the eulogy

One steady voice from the front, in Sepedi and English, so the family can grieve instead of running the day.

  5. V

    Walking with the family

From the home to the graveside, the procession moves on time and with dignity.

  6. VI

    The last hymn

And when it is time to sing them home, the whole yard sings.

Robala ka khutšo.
